Today’s children are a priority of JK DAG’s work in the community since they will be tomorrow’s citizens. A basic element of child care including health, education, and nutritional needs of children is a part of all of our projects ensuring that a sustained ongoing program is in place for the children. Some of the serious challenges facing children are poverty, health related problems such as malnutrition, diarrhea, infant mortality, abuse and neglect. Early protection and intervention in the form of health, education, and nutrition are invaluable. JK DAG has tuition classes in most of its centers in addition to providing nutritional supplements and recreational facilities.

JK DAG has set up recently in the year 2012 Child Care Home in Rajbagh Srinagar to provide a homely ambience of personal warmth and care for those children without parents. As of now there are several children being cared for by a couple, who attend to all their needs in the orphanage. These children attend a school located nearby & are doing exceedingly well in their studies. Over the coming years we hope to see a significant increase in the number of children in this faculty.

Many children in JK DAG projects are being helped through sponsorship by individuals, groups and philanthropic organizations which provide the child with overall care. Progress reports of these children are sent regularly to their sponsors who besides writing to them, send gifts and also visit them & the organization has provided education scholarship to near about one hundred students and in near future the activity will be expanded & more areas will be covered and near about more then five hundred poor and needy students will be provided education scholarship by the organization.
